We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to our mission of launching the next wave of successful startups.
As a Backend Engineer at UP.Labs, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications. You will work closely with product teams to ensure seamless integration and high performance of our platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Optimize application performance and ensure high availability
- Implement security best practices to protect data and infrastructure
- Maintain and improve database performance, including indexing and query optimization.
- Write clena, reusable, and well documented code following best practices
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and resolve issues proactively
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in backend development.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building and deploying backend applications
- Strong experience with Node.js for building server-side applications and APIs using Javascript or Typescript.
- Strong experience with Python for backend development and scripting, using Django, Flask, or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience with Nest, Express or similar frameworks.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Knowledge of SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Knowledge in IaaC with Terraform or CloudFormation
