Brand Design Lead (Contract) (Remote)

Job Description:

As a Brand Design Lead with UP.Labs, you will be leading the brand initiatives and art direction for our corporate partner Porsche and our attached portfolio companies. You will work in a cross-functional team with product owners, user experience designers, business analysts, engineers and data scientists to create design and initiatives that clearly articulate the brand of each portfolio company.  This role will help create the overall brand structure; inclusive of logos, color palettes, and other aesthetic while communicating directly with product design and tech to implement.

You have experience working within an agency or 0>1 startup environment where you must adapt constantly to the ever-changing environment. You strive to be a conduit of honest and constructive feedback both up and down the chain. You are a flexible, proactive, self-starter with a positive attitude and always looking to push the boundaries of what is possible to create better user experiences.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the creation and execution of our portfolio company’s brand experience, including creation of logos, color palettes, color ways, font choices, and more.
  • Design sophisticated brand storytelling to drive awareness and clear articulation of the brand.
  • Gain a deep understanding of audiences’ needs and our competitive differentiators.
  • Embed yourself in the customer’s journey to create a consistent and impactful brand experience.
  • Build internal awareness and adoption for our portfolio company brands.

You should have:

  • 6+ years of work experience in brand design or art direction; preferably in agency model or 0>1 B2B or B2C environment.
  • Experience designing in Adobe, InDesign, or other tools
  • A proactive contributor who can independently create, manage, and drive forward a project involving multiple stakeholders—with incredible influence and collaboration skills.

Our office is located in an airplane hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Los Angeles, where we ideate, prototype, and take an occasional flight (or flying lesson).
